Torano Single Region Serie Jalapa Robusto Review
Torano Single Region Serie Jalapa Robusto - 5 X 52. Wrapper - Criollo '98, Jalapa Nicaragua, Binder - Jalapa, Nicaragua, Filler - El Estero Farm, Jalapa, Nicaragua. Full Bodied.
Initial taste - Peppery, sweet woody flavor.
First Third - Strong pepper spice, leather, citrus and some hints of sweetness.
Second Third - True Nicaraguan puro flavor profile - strong pepper, sweet, citrus leather and notes of wood.
Last Third - Continuation of the pepper, sweet citrus and leather flavors. Long tasty finish of strong spice and leather.
Construction was perfect, as was the draw. Burn was sharp and even, producing a solid dark gray ash.
I really enjoyed this cigar which is a powerhouse with a flavor profile that is among my favorite. Complexity was excellent and balance was good (pepper was a bit on the strong side). A cigar best enjoyed after a full meal. MSRP is $6.50 for this size. I think Torano has another winner with this cigar. I can see this cigar becoming part of my regular rotation.
