La Hoja De Flores Autentico Maduro Toro Review

La Hoja De Flores Autentico Maduro Toro - 6.25 X 52. Wrapper - Dominican Republic 2006 Corojo Maduro, Binder - Dominican Republic, Filler - Dominican Republic. Full bodied.

Initial taste - Dry cedar & spice.

First third - Spice, citrus earth, wood & cedar woodiness.

Second third - Spice continues but now the citrus noted in the first third is now more of an orange peel, along with the earthiness and now a sweetness emerging.

Last third - Spice, citrus, orange peel, earthiness and caramel notes- very well balanced. Long finish of spice and earth.

Construction - Beautiful silky, oily, dark-brown colored wrapper with a smooth and flawless texture with no major veins. Perfect cap construction.

Burn - Fairly straight burn with a dark gray colored, flaky ash that holds on.

Draw - Perfect draw with plenty of smoke produced.

A superb full bodied cigar with great complexity and balance - I really enjoyed the spiciness and orange peel with the earthy flavors. Construction was very good. I would recommend smoking after a substantial meal and or later in the day. MSRP for this vitola is $12.00. A great smoking experience - very highly recommended.
