Hoja De Flores Robusto Review

Hoja De Flores Robusto - 5 X 52. Wrapper - Criollo '98 Cuban seed, Binder - Dominican Republic Criollo, Filler - Dominican Republic Criollo. Medium to full bodied.

Initial lighting taste - Cedar and spice.

First third - Spice, citrus, orange peel and leather.

Second third - A nice zesty spiciness, tangy citrus, orange peel and leather.

Last third - Spice continues along with orange citrus and smooth leather. Nice long finish of citrus spice and leather.

Construction - An attractive brown wrapper with minimal veins visible and a nice silky sheen. A well constructed cap as well.

Burn - Straight burn with a salt & pepper colored solid ash that held on for over an inch at a time.

Draw - The draw was perfect with plenty of exhale smoke produced.

A fantastic tasting cigar with good complexity and balance but with a bold flavor profile that is among my favorite. I am a huge fan of tangy citrus, spice and of course leather, and this cigar also had that very enjoyable added nuance of orange peel. I could smoke this cigar all day every day. Best enjoyed after a full meal as it is on the strong side. MSRP for this size is $10.00 which in my opinion, this cigar is deserving of. If you are looking for a medium to full bodied cigar with nice balance - I highly recommend trying this cigar.
