IPCPR 2011 Pre-Release Review Casa Magna Domus Magnus Limitada "Optimus".

Casa Magna Domus Magnus Limitada "Optimus" - 5.75 X 52. Wrapper - Nicaraguan Sun grown from Jalapa, Binder - Nicaragua, Filler - Nicaragua. Medium bodied.

Initial lighting taste - Leather and wood.

First third - Earthy leather with an underlying spice. Notes of fruit and cocoa.

Second third - More of the earthy, leather and spice along with the raisin fruitiness and cocoa notes.

Last third - Continuation of these wonderful flavors - earthy leather, spice, raisin/fruitiness and cocoa. Smooth and balanced so nicely that the flavors coat the palate with a very long finish of spice with the leathery earthiness.

Construction - Excellent - does anybody out there today have better wrappers than the Quesadas? A gorgeous brown colored box press with a slight oily seen and a pigtail. Smooth texture without any veins. Burn was sharp producing a dark gray ash that held on inches at a time. Draw was perfect with ample amounts of smoke.

A fantastic cigar that has such a smooth richness to it that before you know it, you are down to the nub - it's that good. Complexity was very good and the balance was outstanding. You can tell that this is a Limitada by how good it is. MSRP is $8.95 which is very good for a Limited cigar that delivers so much. IPCPR 2011 has another strong contender in the house! Definite recommend.
