Miami, FL, 6 December: In the first of a series of important changes, Rene J. Castaneda, Vice President of Miami Cigar & Company, announced that he is turning over the National Sales Management portfolio to Hector Paz effective 1 January 2011.
Paz joined MC&C in 1999, succeeding Castaneda as Operations Manager. Several years later, Paz went ‘on the road’ in Florida selling the lines of Miami Cigar. Most recently, Hector has served as Regional Sales Director for Florida.
With the passing of the baton to Paz, Castaneda will devote himself to International Sales and product development.
According to Nestor Miranda, “…this is the first of several important announcements we will make in the early part of 2011.”
Miami Cigar & Company has seen enormous growth since the 2008 introduction of the Nestor Miranda Collection Special Selection, which was followed by the NMC Dominicano and now the Art Deco. The company’s Tatiana flavoured cigars have a 43% market share among the flavoured cigar segment.
The success of the recently released La Aurora 107 and the Guillermo León have contributed significantly to the growth of Miami Cigar & Company.
“We expect the growth to continue with increased sales of existing lines as well as the introduction of new, exciting cigars like our recently released, La Sirena, our most full bodied cigar to date, and, I expect Hector Paz to continue to make a significant contribution to our growth, in his new role,” said Castaneda.
